Wendy Turner Webster Q&A
Every Horse Remembered Q&A with Wendy Turner Webster, television presenter and animal rights campaigner.
Do you have a memory of a horse that meant a lot to you?
The picture is of me and my pony Caramac, a Welsh/Arab cross who we had for nearly 20 years before he died of old age. In his day he was a super showjumping pony and I loved taking him to the local events to try for the red rosettes. I will never forget the joy he brought me.
Why do you/did you enjoy riding?
I loved the thrill of competing – from gymkhana games to showjumping to showing in hand. Being alone with your beloved horse is a very special feeling.
Have horses or riding got you through a difficult time?
My Welsh Mountain pony Fella was always there for me after my sister Ruth died. To be able to focus my energies on him helped to lessen the pain of losing her.
