Many people in low- and middle-income countries, including India, rely on working horses, donkeys and mules to provide vital income for their families and ultimately, to survive. During this event, you will see how Brooke India uses a long-term, joined-up approach to enhance animal welfare. Starting with providing emergency treatment and education to build trust with communities, work then progresses to making more advanced improvements in harnessing practices and compassionate handling. We also help communities set up new income streams so animals don’t have to work so hard.
Following their recent visit to India to see Brooke’s work on the ground, Phoebe Thomas, Legacy Manager and Zoe Francis, Fundraising Officer will give an up-to-the-minute overview of the lasting change your support is making possible. Gifts in Wills fund over half of our work worldwide, and we are incredibly grateful to receive them. It is because of these generous gifts that we’re able to continue to reach over 200,000 working animals in India directly, and over 100,000 more indirectly.
There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A session with Phoebe and Zoe at the end, and the chance to meet other like-minded Brooke supporters!

- those who are thinking about or intend to leave a gift in their Will
- our supporters who have been involved with fundraising for Brooke.
