June volunteers of the month - East Anglia fundraising group
This month, group member Maggie Davies held a dog walking event in aid of Brooke at Cromwell house in Norfolk and raised over £600.
The group covers Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire and has over 100 members. Since their formation in 2001, they have raised an incredible £100,000 for working horses, donkeys and mules around the world.
Group Leader, Fiona Wrigley said “We try to have different sorts of events: open gardens, visits to stud farms, bridge parties, dressage displays, dog walks, concerts, clothes and jewellery sales, line dancing, and large drinks parties - anything that people are going to enjoy and support. There are millions of equines leading such dreadful lives, and we must all try our best to help in whatever way we can”.
This month, group member Maggie Davies held a dog walking event in aid of Brooke at Cromwell house in Norfolk and raised over £600. During the event, Maggie said “It’s lovely to be back out raising funds for Brooke, safely, after what has been such a difficult year with no events. I am pleasantly surprised to see how many dogs and their lovely owners came to support and it was wonderful to see some fellow group members who haven’t been able to meet up in over a year”.
A massive thank you to each and every member of the East Anglia group for your incredible dedication over the last 20 years. We can’t wait to see what other events you organise in the near future!
