Take part in the Captain Tom 100 and raise money for Brooke
This early May Bank Holiday, you can raise vital funds for Brooke by taking part in the Captain Tom 100, a new fundraising event set up to celebrate the life and legacy of Captain Sir Tom Moore, who famously raised £38.9 million for the NHS last year by walking 100 laps of his garden before he turned 100.
From Friday 30 April to Monday 3 May, people around the world are encouraged to celebrate his generosity by setting themselves a challenge based around the number 100 and fundraising for a charity of their choice.
Ideas include walking 100 steps each hour or running 100 metres, baking 100 cakes, or perhaps scoring 100 goals. All you need to do is decide on your Captain Tom 100, and, should you choose to raise money for Brooke, set up a fundraising page here, or make a donation here.
Whatever your Captain Tom 100 challenge, remember to share videos, photos and fundraising pages on your social media using the hashtag #CaptainTom100 and don’t forget to tag Brooke, too.
Money raised from the challenge will help Brooke continue our work relieving the immediate suffering of working horses, donkeys and mules around the world. As the world continues to grapple with the Covid-19 pandemic, these animals are providing an essential role in ensuring communities still have access to food, water and medical transport.
