Sir Peter O'Sullevan - in our thoughts at the first Trust lunch since passing away
The Sir Peter O’Sullevan Charitable Trust will have its first annual lunch today since the death of its namesake and Brooke's Patron, Sir Peter O’Sullevan. Sir Peter passed away earlier this year at the age of 97.
Petra Ingram, Chief Executive for the Brooke, said:
“Sir Peter became Patron of the Brooke in 1999 and was heavily involved with the charity, visiting our work overseas and supporting fundraising appeals. He and his Charitable Trust have raised over £4 million for animal welfare over the years, including over £600,000 for the Brooke.
We will miss him at the lunch this year, although he will be in our thoughts. His passion for horses was very clear in all he did and he cared deeply about the welfare of the 100 million working horses, donkeys and mules around the world. We will always be grateful for everything he has done for the Brooke.”
The Trust continues to support the Brooke’s work, helping horses, donkeys and mules in 11 different countries across Africa, Asia, The Middle East and Latin America.
