Professor Cheikh Ly
Professor Cheikh Ly from Senegal holds a Veterinary Doctorate from the Inter-States School of Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. He joined the Board of Trustees in 2016.
Professor Cheikh Ly has worked in academia and research in the areas of animal production, veterinary sciences, livestock economics and policies, and capacity development.
He has been Director General of the International Trypanotolerance Centre (ITC) and served as consultant for national and international organisations including the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), World Bank, African Development Bank and USAID.
Mr Ly is Honorary President of the Council of the Senegalese Veterinary Doctors Association, a member of the Academy of Sciences and Technics of Senegal and on the Board of Trustees of the International Livestock Research Institute. He has a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University (MSU).
